In the tapestry of life, each thread represents a cherished moment and every person a unique story. At LDV Hospice, we understand the profound impact that our patients and their families have on our shared journey. In honor of the lives that have touched ours, we have created this Remembrances page—a space dedicated to celebrating the enduring spirit of those who have left an indelible mark. As we navigate the delicate path of end-of-life care, we recognize the beauty in every narrative, and we believe that the legacy of our loved ones deserves to be honored. Here, we invite you to share and explore these heartfelt remembrances, a collection of tributes that weave together the rich tapestry of the lives we hold dear.
In honor and loving memory of our company's founding father, we pay tribute to a visionary whose indomitable spirit, passion, and tireless dedication laid the foundation for the thriving organization we are today.
With unwavering faith in our mission, Jack Irwin embarked on a journey with us that would shape the destiny of our company. Through challenges and triumphs, Jack always had an unyielding belief in the potential of our collective efforts.
Jack R Irwin, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather,
passed away on December 9, 2023 at the age of 94. He left behind a legacy of
love, kindness, and cherished memories that will forever be etched in the
hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Born on June 2, 1929, he lived a life filled with purpose and devotion to his
family. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the
Korean War, demonstrating his commitment to duty, honor, and sacrifice. His
service was a testament to his courage and patriotism, and he carried the
values instilled in him during those challenging times throughout his entire
life.
Jack was a loving husband to Carol, a dedicated father to Jackie and husband
Mark Geerts, Dan and wife Liz, Dave and wife Marla, Denise and husband Ted Podlesny; a cherished grandfather to Shaun and wife Alex, Ashley and
husband Jason, Christopher and wife Libby, and Carter Irwin who proceeded
him in death; a proud great-grandfather to Hannah, Zachary and Jack. His
family meant everything to him, and he worked tirelessly to provide them with
a life filled with joy and warmth.
Throughout his life, Jack touched the lives of many with his generosity,
compassion, and unwavering support. His warm smile and gentle demeanor
made him a source of comfort and strength to those around him. Whether it
was offering words of wisdom, lending a helping hand, or simply sharing a
laugh, he had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel valued and loved.
In addition to his dedication to family, Jack had a passion for animals of all
kinds, tinkering and reading. Whether it was spending time in nature,
pursuing a favorite hobby, or sharing stories of his experiences, he found joy
in the simple pleasures of life. His enthusiasm for these pursuits inspired
those close to him to appreciate the beauty in the world around them.
As we mourn the loss of Jack, let us also celebrate the incredible life he lived
and the impact he had on the lives of those he leaves behind. His legacy will
continue to shine through the memories we shared, the lessons he imparted,
and the love that will forever bind our family together.
